Flying Corkscrew

South West, Western Australia

About This Supplier

The Flying Corkscrew was founded 6 years ago in Margaret River by Sullivan McLeod.  At the time, there were already many traditional wine tours in the area but his feeling was this – what if he could create something different?

What if the tour was relaxed, where you could go at your own pace?  What if the wine tastings were all very personalised, in private rooms and behind the scenes?  And finally, what if they worked with helicopter companies, super car operators, luxury hotels and award wining wineries and restaurants, to create the kind of memories that are not easily forgotten?

What they are aiming for at the Flying Corkscrew is to create the ultimate “wow” experience. They know there will be challenges along the way, but it sure will be fun trying.

Sully grew up with 3 brothers in Margaret River and hails from one of the first families in the region. He travelled a lot in his younger days and has a passion for people and a love of stories.

Leeuwin long Lunch

Having forged a reputation for fine art, food, and wine, Leeuwin Estate is a Margaret River icon. Running the culinary team is head chef Dany Angove, who combines passion with the ability to source high-quality produce locally. The restaurant has won numerous gold plate awards and was the 2012 regional restaurant of the year in the Western Australia Good Food guide.

Voyager Estate Long Lunch

The grounds at Voyager Estate have to be seen to be believe, and Voyager’s Discovery long lunch is even more spectacular.

The 7-course Discovery Menu is the signature experience; each course is inspired by one of our wines. Head chef, Santiago (Santi) Fernandez and his team also take inspiration from the vineyards and winemaking process in creating dishes that bring a small part of our Estate to the table.  Each course will be perfectly balanced with our premium Voyager wine – which has always been the hero in our restaurant.

Vasse Felix Long Lunch

Vasse Felix is the oldest winery in Margaret River, and one of its most famous. The first few vines were planted by the visionary Tom Cullity in 1967, and the reputation for fine food and wine has grown by the year.

Under the tutelage of head chef Aaron Carr, who was named “Chef of the Year 2015” by The West Australian Good Food Guide, the Vasse Felix 5 course degustation with matching wine is a divine culinary experience.

Small Group Wine Tour

Margaret River is a very special place.  Three hours south of Perth and between two capes 120 kilometres apart, lies rugged coastline, magical Karri Forrests, spectacular caves, and vineyards that produce some of the best Chardonnay and Cabernet in the world.

The Flying Corkscrew have teamed up with award winning wineries, hatted restaurants and a local helicopter operator, to create five incredible wine tour experiences.
